On the 30th of July, Japan became the 23rd associated country to join the Horizon Europe programme. This milestone enables Japanese researchers and organisations to participate in Horizon Europe projects with EU member states and other associated countries, collaborating with leading research institutions to tackle today’s global challenges.
Beyond expanding research opportunities, Japan’s association with Horizon Europe strengthens the EU-Japan Strategic Partnership and highlights a shared ambition to advance scientific excellence, foster innovation, and promote open and rules-based international collaboration.
